Learning Never Stops
Hellstrip in bloom. This gives me such joy. Pollinators have been active in this tiny garden despite the traffic, walkers, dogs. We live on a busy street.
I’ve been lucky this week because work has taken me to meet great people and places working towards the environment, and their communities in New York City. I’ve walked quite a bit. My fitness app is happy! 🤣
Finding a pocket of green, a mini forest, a rooftop garden in an urban environment always brings awe and joy. Everything is possible. Nature and committed people make it possible.
It’s nice to understand what communities are trying to do. To look around and recognize plants and trees. To have a better sense of what’s good and what’s bad.
I thank Rutgers @rutgers_environmental_stewards for their fantastic environmental program. I did the program last spring. It was a challenge to take a semester of classes and work on a final project, but I’m so glad I did. Highly recommend the program for those interested.
With nature, learning never stops. There’s always something new to learn. As an artist, gardener and simply as a human, I’ll be a student forever. 🙏🌿
